Leopardfur crept through the peaceful forest, tracking a vole that she had scented in the brush only moments ago. Her ears pricked up as she detected a nibbling sound to her left. Swiveling her ears, the slender she-cat circled around a clump of bracken were a plump vole sat nibbling a seed. Leopardfur crept forward, her weight light and soundless. Suddenly, a bird screamed an alarm call that was cut short. The vole instantly dropped the seed and made to scamper away, but Leopardfur was to fast for it. She quickly leapt and pounced on her prey, dispatching it with a swift bite to the neck. Scrapping dirt over the motionless body, Leopardfur opened her jaws to drink in the forest scents, scanning for the thing that had alarmed the jay. Suddenly there was a yowl as a tawny colored tom leapt onto the she-cat's back. Leopardfur let out a hiss of alarm and anger and lay, rolling hard on her back. The attacker scrambled to dispatch itself from her fur, but his long, unkept claws snagged and broke, causing him to cry out in annoyance and pain. Leopardfur took the tom's pause as an advantage and flipped over onto her paws, sending the intruder flying head-long into a pine. "Your a mousebrianed fool, attacking a fit, strong cat like me, in my territory." Leopardfur spat at the fur ball now lying in a heap. The tom groaned and made to rise, but the Leopardfur let out a low warning growl and he slumped once more. She stalked over to him and gave him a swift bit to the ear. "Who are you? What clan?" The tom didn't reply, filling the she-cat with rage. She bit him again and repeated her question. This time the response was surprising. "I belong to no clan she-cat, for I am a loner." Leopardfur was dumbfounded, but was careful not to show it. A loner? Why would a loner attack a clan cat? She hissed angrily and glared at the tawny cat, who was now sitting up. 'Well, Ashstar might like to here this, come with me, loner." She nipped his tail for him to move. "Don't even try to escape from me, you won't get far, you look to frail to even crawl!"
